Paul founded Regis Mutual Management in August 2007. He started his working life as a maritime law specialist and then joined the second largest ship-owners’ P&I Club. After a period heading a marine insurance recoveries department he was asked to establish a mutual management subsidiary, launching two mutuals in the UK and two in Australia.
At Charles Taylor Consulting he was Chairman of the Non Marine Mutual Management Division which led to the creation of nine mutuals. He is a well -respected speaker at conferences communicating the mutual message.
Paul began working with Regis in 2010 and joined the Exec team in August 2013. Paul has broad experience of the insurance sector having held senior roles in general insurance, broking, the Lloyd’s market and now in the co-operative/mutual sector.
Paul specialises in business transformation, I.T. and operations, has an MBA and membership of APM (RPP).
Gerald joined Regis to lead its Australian operation at start-up in 2008.
With 40 years’ experience including 17 years spent in London and Europe, 2 in the US and the last 21 in Australia Gerald has occupied senior management positions since 1987 including running the Australian operations of CTC plc.
As a qualified Fellow of the Association of Average Adjusters, the first half of Gerald’s career was devoted to marine insurance, reinsurance and P&I mutuals. Since then his remit has been exclusively mutual.
Gerald has a track record for sound mutual management with a strong emphasis on efficiency, sustainability and member service driven by a clear client focus.
Ciaran joined Regis in December 2014. Ciaran brings to the team 25 years of insurance and audit industry experience gained in undertaking global roles with companies including Coopers & Lybrand (Dublin) and senior insurance company CFO positions at AIG Europe SA (Paris), GE Insurance Solutions (UK & Continental Europe), FM Insurance Company (international division), Argo Managing Agency Ltd (international division) and ProSight International.
Ciaran brings broad experience in the areas of audit, finance, actuarial, risk management, operations and IT functions and he has had proven success in managing the finance operations required to support Regis’ activities. In addition Ciaran is experienced in building, developing and leading highly performing teams and providing strategic support to CEOs, executive teams, boards and investors.
During his 32 year career Peter has held many positions within the news industry – including being President of the National Federation of Retail Newsagents, Chairman of Homelink, Chairman of the Newspaper & Magazine industry’s Joint Industry Group and Chairman of NFRN Mutual Ltd.
After ten years in various roles within the International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation (ICMIF) Shaun was appointed Chief Executive in 2005. He was also recently a leading figure in establishing the Association of Mutual Insurers (AMI) in the UK, and is now its CEO.
Shaun is a qualified chartered accountant and has worked in the insurance and corporate finance sectors.
Appointed to the Board in April 2015, Ian is a Chartered Accountant with more than 27 years’ experience in the financial services sector. His career started at KPMG where he spent 13 years in their Insurance and Consulting practice covering a wide range of projects for Lloyd’s, the London market and life insurance companies.
Since then he has held executive positions at a number of insurance companies. Before joining Ecclesiastical as the Group Chief Financial Officer in 2012, he was Group Chief Financial Officer for Torus Insurance where his role included acquisitions, finance, investment and tax management, capital raising, actuarial and reinsurance.
